As of February 2020, Philip joined SLF Lawyers as its inaugural National Managing Partner with responsibility for its offices across Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth
He has been a law firm partner, principal or director for 35 years; whilst he has been a Managing Partner, CEO & Managing Principal, Managing Director or Executive Head for the last 25 years.
Philip has proven leadership and strategic skills, deep industry knowledge and a 40 year network which is invaluable to our firm and its clients.
His legal practice experience covers a broad spectrum including business advisory and strategy, corporate advisory & governance, mergers and acquisitions, structuring and restructuring, insurance and risk management, commercial litigation, commercial leasing and employment law.
He has also had prior commercial experience where he owned and operated a specialist legal management consulting firm for four (4) years where he undertook various strategic assignments for more than 60 law firms across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
During 2009 Philip was short-listed as a finalist and was runner up in the inaugural LIV President’s Awards for Managing Partner of the Year.
Over the last 7 years Philip has been a judge for Lawyers Weekly in the 2013 Women in Law Awards, the 2014 Annual Awards, the 2015 Australian Law Awards, the 2018 Corporate Counsel Awards and the 2020 Corporate Counsel Awards.
On the weekends, Philip loves spending time relaxing with his family and friends, getting outdoors as he is an avid gardener and going to weekly AFL games for his beloved Collingwood.
